3 Things To Add to Your Morning Routine!

Updated: Jun 2, 2023

HI!

I've recently forced myself (and my boyfriend, but he was down for the idea) into creating a routine to get the day started early, to feel energized, and maintain a more healthy lifestyle.

3 Things to Add to Your Morning Routine

Waking up early

I'm pretty sure this has been said and done. I believe the best wake up time for the most productivity is 5 AM. BUT... that's too early for both my bf and I, so we opted for 6 AM. That's the best time for us because it's 2 hours before I go to work and the best for him to get ready for the day. Here are some reasons why we decided to wake up early:

Having more time

When we wake up early, we have more time to not only get rid of the grogginess, but also more time to do things such as exercising, taking a walk, or drinking tea. The point is that you can get your day started early to be more productive.

Productivity

Since we start our day early with a walk, we feel more energize. This allows us to get more stuff done early in the day such as writing a blog post or study. If we have to go to work, then we take the productiveness to work and get things done there.

Commute

Don't be like the old me and get stuck in traffic or power walking from the parking structure to make it to work on time. Getting ready and leaving for work early leaves you wiggle room. Even with traffic if you leave early there's less room for accidents to happen.

Breakfast

We're not big breakfast people, but if breakfast is your thing...then waking up early is good because you will actually have time for breakfast and enjoy it.

Drinking Lemon Water

My boyfriend and I started drinking lemon water for one reason only and that reason is weight loss. After one week of drinking it, we noticed that there are other benefits to drinking lemon water other than weight loss. Here are some reasons why we continue drinking lemon water.

Vitamin C

There are so many benefits to getting a daily dose of vitamin C from the lemon water.

  • Helps reduce and prevent dandruff

  • Combat against hair loss

  • Prevents weak, brittle, and thin hair

  • Protects your skin against hyperpigmentation (but still use sun lotion)

  • Stimulates collagen production

Honestly, all these are so true. Ever since I started drinking lemon water and taking regular morning walks, I have noticed that my dandruff has been reducing. My skin and hair looks healthier.

Aids with digestion and detox

Other than having loads of vitamin C benefits, lemon water also makes you feel less bloated because it's keep your regularly hydrating yourself. Not only that but it acts as a mild diuretic so you'll find yourself using the bathroom more often. But this is good because the urinary tract will be able to release any unwanted elements in your body.

I'm gonna really stand by this one. My boyfriend and I used to feel bloated all the time after eating, but now we don't feel bloated at all.

Boosts energy

Drinking lemon water in the will give you that energy boost that you need to start the day. The potassium found in lemons can increase your alertness, but staying hydrating is a big key in giving you that boost of energy.

Drinking lemon water as you can see has tons of benefits, but it also has some down sides.

It can hurt your enamel, but you can prevent it by brushing your teeth before drinking it, rinse your mouth with water after drinking it, drink through a straw, and drink it all at once.

Taking morning walks

I love these morning walks. Here are some benefits of taking morning walks (you can also walk in the evening or at night, if you're not a morning person).

  • Boost your metabolism

  • Improve your mood

  • Reduces stress and anxiety

  • Wakes you up or relaxes

  • Reduces risk for disease

There are a ton of other benefits for taking a 10 minute walk. My boyfriend and I definitely feel the benefits of it. When we miss our morning walks, we'll take a walk in the evening.

Final thoughts

We've been doing this routine for about a week now and OMG...our energy level has gone up, we are more productive, we are more relaxed. We've also been doing intermittent fasting to maintain our weight, but that's a different story. I'm totally bias when I say that EVERYONE should try it out, but it ultimately is up to you to try it.

Hopefully, you found 3 things to add to your morning routine!

Peace out!!!
