I remember this one time, I went to a friend's house and found out she had a TON of pennywort growing all over her backyard and I mean it when I say ALL OVER! She said that she threw some seed down and then one day it just grew and it kept growing and then it spread like wildfire. So anyways, I was like okay, I will take some ( 2-3 bags full) because my family liked pennywort (not me though, too bitter for me).
We tried eating it as a salad, nope too bitter. We tried cooking it, wrong again. We tried making it into a juice, it was wayyyy too bitter. Then I found out, this type of pennywort was from Thailand and it's way more bitter than the ones from Vietnam.
So what's the deal then? Why eat pennywort or drink the juice?
Reduces anxiety.
Loaded with vitamins and minerals - B, K, calcium, zinc, and magnesium.
Can help cool the body to balance the heat.
Can be used to treat psoriasis and stretch marks.
Contains strong antioxidant and antibacterial.
I actually like the taste if it's properly balanced. Which made me think, did my family and I balance it properly? SMH.
Whether this plant is magical or not, would you try it? Let me know in the comments below.
If you would try it or already love pennywort, check out this place that I found. It's called Ma Juicy and they mix their pennywort juice with coconut milk. Which, by the way, is genius because it really cuts down the bitterness of the pennywort.
They have fuzzy chairs and sofas so you can chill or study comfortably.
