Let's be honest...
It feels great sitting in the theatre watching a movie on IMAX and sure it's worth it because of the surround sound and the enormous screen.
BUT...
Not all of us can go to the theatre frequently (like my boyfriend and I) or we might be working ALL the time and on a budget to save for bigger purchases or travel, but we still want to enjoy date nights.
So we opted to do the one activity that we LOVE and spend as little as we possibly can. We chose to have movie night at home. Saving money is one of the many reasons to watch a movie at home, but there are more. Keep reading to find out what those reasons are and how to have a movie night at home.
Reasons to have a movie night at home
Save time & money
We want to go out and watch a movie, but sometimes we don't have the time or the money to do it. Having a movie night in the comfort of our own home is the best way to save time and money. We're already paying for a streaming service and there's a chance that snacks are laying around in the pantry. We've already spent money on these things, no need to spend more. BAM! We just saved time & money.
Quality time
Like it was mentioned above, sometimes we are too busy to hang out or go out. In that sense, having a movie night home is a great way to have quality time our significant other, family, or friends.
Reduce stress
A great way to escape reality. Watching a movie is a good way to relieve stress after a long day at work or a long day of doing anything.
Being comfortable at home
Sometimes we go to the movies because we just want to dress up, look nice, and have fun . There's nothing wrong with doing that at home. We can dress up or down when we're at home. We can pause the movie when we want to use the bathroom or grab more snacks from the kitchen. Bonus points if it's a movie night in bed because we can turn off the lights and go right to sleep after the movie is done.
No time constraint
This is OUR favorite. We don't have rush to get dressed to go anywhere. We can just be in our pjs and have a movie night whenever we want. We can even have a movie marathon that runs into the next day (if we have time for it).
We LOVE having watching a movie at home, but we also go to the movies when we believe the movie might be worth the money. John Wick 4 is a good example. The way it was filmed, we don't believe we would have the same experience if it wasn't IMAX with surround sound.
But everything is really up to what you want to do. Choose what make you happy.
