How I Unapologetically Stepped Out of My Comfort Zone

Updated: Jun 2

How I unapologetically stepped out of my comfort zone and how you can too!

As I got older, I realized there's never a RIGHT moment to do things. You just have create the RIGHT moment for yourself. I've missed out on so many opportunities because I was waiting for the right moment. I didn't believe in myself enough to cancel out the negativity around me.

When I first started this journey, I would stop if there was a negative comment that made me think I wasn't good enough. I would compare myself to those who are already successful and honestly, that made me feel worse.

I had time to think about what I can do to keep going regardless of what people say. And it's the acceptance that it will require hard work and dedication, but not just that... It's also the realization that EVERYONE with a high following worked hard to get to where they are.

It's possible to get to that level with determination and dedication.

Are you ready to step out of your comfort zone?

Here's How I unapologetically stepped out of my comfort zone

If I can do it! You can too!

Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." – Carl Jung

The first step is awareness.

Whether it's being self-aware or being aware of your surrounding, this awareness will open the road to new opportunities. The question is...how to get to that level of awareness?

First, you have get to know your thoughts, your feelings, what triggers you, and etc.

Example, I am aware that I'm stubborn and emotional. I'm also aware that I have days where I just want to sit and do nothing. I'm also aware of my spending habit, so I can control how I use my money.

Being aware puts me in control of my reaction to certain situation.

Acceptance is not weakness; it is a strength that allows us to grow and evolve. – Tony Robbins

The second step is acceptance.

When you start accepting reality for what it is, it'll change you for the better because now you're in control of your own reality.

I've been blogging on and off for many many years. The reason is that I always look at other people and think to myself that I'll never get there because I don't have the funds or that they just automatically did it overnight. And if I didn't get the same results, I just give up.

Recently, I have come to accept a few things:

  1. Everyone's reality is different. You can't control what someone else does, but you can control how you react and what you do.

  2. Successful people that you see on Instagram are successful because of dedication and determination. They did not stop when things got difficult.

  3. Posting consistency is important, but so is mental health.

  4. Not everyone can be a content creator full-time when they first start out. It's important to keep your full-time job.

  5. Not everyone will support you and that's okay. Just keep going until you find your community.

  6. Trying to do too many things at once can be overwhelming. Limit yourself to 1-2 things.

  7. Mental health is SOOO IMPORTANT! Take breaks when possible, schedule content ahead of time if you believe you need to keep posting. Getting burned out won't help your goal, but will hurt it instead. SO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.

“I have accepted fear as part of life – specifically the fear of change... I have gone ahead despite the pounding in the heart that says: turn back....” Erica Jong

The last step is to change.

Not saying that you have to completely change into a new person. Even as you are changing, you are still you. You are now just embracing the part of you that's afraid of being judged by the people around you.

If you are shy, you can still grow a following on social media and blog without showing you face and giving out your real name. I've seen many people that have faceless accounts on Instagram or use a pen name for their blogs.

In the last year, I've changed many things in my life and stepped out of my comfort zone. I changed my style, changed how I view myself, change my determination to keep working on my blog, change the way I react to people who tell me that I can't do it, and I can go on and on. Ultimately, I'm still the same person.

The only difference is that I now make my own reality rather than allowing someone else to make it for me. And that's how I unapologetically stepped out of my comfort zone and how you can too!
